Shuttleworth in the snow

To say the least, the last few months have been rather busy, and therefore nothing has made it onto the forum as a result. Playing catch up a bit now, but hope these are worth the wait!!

During the snow a while back, we took the opportunity to get some of the OW aircraft out into the snow for some PR shots.

The Richard Shuttleworth shot

The stunning Comet, which just looked great in the snow.

Hi, Darren.

but that’s a whole other can of worms isn’t it?

Regards,

kev35

Indeed it is Kev. Just for info, the grey sky is a traditional Lee grey grad filter. There is some Photoshop to remove some of the tracks, but I left the majority in.

Cheers

Darren

I like them the way they are.

As do I! They’re different, but tastefully different. Very nice indeed, Darren. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Darren.

Indeed, the images are yours and yours to present how you feel they are best presented. However, you are a photographer of such obvious talent that, to me, it seems a shame that you feel it necessary to turn the image you took into something it isn’t by external manipulation. but that’s a whole other can of worms isn’t it?

Being honest I think the pictures are ok and nothing more than that. I expect the leaden sky is a result of photoshop manipulation and i think it is too heavy and detracts from the overall effect. I’ve also spent a little time very close to both the Swift and the Comet and as far as I am aware, neither of them is the colour portrayed in Darren’s images. The best of the bunch by far are the third and the last. Of course, this is only my personal opinion but I would like to see the images of the Swift and Comet actually approximating their natural colours.

Regards,

kev35

Thats fair enough Kev, I like them the way they are. Thanks for the feedback though. 🙂

I think he was being whimsical and playful.

ATA, are you actually the photographer perchance, with a ‘new hat’ on ?:diablo:

No – Still here as myself. Hat’s don’t suit me :D:D

Thanks for all the nice feedback on the images guys.

What is the point of this comment? These images are quite superb, and are taken by the same photographer who’s SE5a images grace the cover and center pages of the current issue of Flypast. Surely we should just be pleased that he is willing to share such images with us.

Nooooo!

You can’t leave it like this.

Just how did the Swift get where it is without any footprints of the handling crew?

I SAY! Splendid pictures…

They have a distinctly eerie, other worldly atmosphere to them.

I especially like the one of the DH.88 Comet.

Good work sir!

Out… Roxeth
