I like the bigger and different aircraft at Old Warden.
I went on Sunday to see and hear the Huey. A type I have never seen on the UK airshow circuit before in 30 years.
Lets not forget types like the Catalina have visited OW for at least 20 years and where else could you see an Avro Anson in formation with a Vulcan.

A great move at OW I think, The Shuttleworth Collection has many events through the season so to have these two biggies land at a single can only be an attraction, now for Sally B !!!

Elmdon Boy – I’m in favour of whatever types bring the people in, in order for Shuttleworth to be able to keep paying the bills. And there certainly was a good crowd there today.

Not sure i’m in favour of larger types like this at OW displays, I feel it loses the magic of OW. These types are better suited at displays up the road at Duxford.
Just like I feel lighter vintage types are more suited to the confines of OW as opposed to the open spaces of Duxford.
I enjoy all types of classic and vintage wherever, just my opinion on there display locations.

The Dak was equally impressive. All in all, a superb start to the season at Old Warden. Just need the thermostat turned up another 10 degrees !

The Cat did a great display, very energetic. A big aeroplane on a grass field really makes an impression ! Well done Matt.
