I *think* she’s officially a Maggie, but I’ve dropped PH a line to ask if he can clarify it for us. 🙂

One thing I do know is that she’s undoubtedly one of the most pretty aeroplanes I’ve ever seen. She was in at Skysport a couple of years back where the boys were re-doing her lovely shiny cowlings, and I had the chance to take a good look around her while she was there. She’s absolutely immaculate.

Also stood up close to her while Tim Moore hand swung her one balmy summers evening, and after departure PH tipped back in and treated Tim and I to a fly past. One of those moments that just puts such a smile on your face. 🙂

Don’t care whether it’s a Hawk or a Maggie – that’s a stonking photograph BR

Yes, PH lives near me. Confusing though as the CAA register G_INFO has AKPF down as a Hawk Trainer

I was going on the entry in a 1995 copy of the reg. list as a Miles Hawk Trainer 3. I wish now I had made a fuller note of the display card. It and the Falcon are both owned by Peter Holloway.
It’s still gorgous and the finish looked as if it had been completed yesterday.

I have had the very enviable joy of sitting in the front seat whilst bimbling around Bedfordshire in the ‘other’ Magister aircraft.
Now I have had this discussion about whether G-AKPF is a Hawk or Magister several times and they are basically the same aircraft just civil v military versions. However there are some subtle differences, the most noticeable of which is the faired wheels, this is a feature of Hawks, the engine cowl differs slightly and of course magisters in their original configuration would have had a blind flying cover over the rear seat (I accept that not every airframe was fitted like this). Therefore on balance I think that this example is a Hawk and the other is a Magister.
It will interesting to see the individual histories.

I would just love to fly in it.
Hoping to get to Shuttleworth on August 3rd for the Military Pageant.
Anyone else going?
