Sickness strands plane passengers

It is reported 12 people were ill on the flight
Holidaymakers were stranded on a plane for two hours at Nottingham East Midlands Airport after a number of passengers began feeling sick.
The My TravelLite jet arrived from Tenerife about 7pm on Wednesday, but passengers were told to stay on board.

Airport authorities waited for a health official to give the all-clear after the outbreak of sickness and diarrhoea.

Passenger John Moore from Newark, Notts, said people became agitated as they were not allowed to disembark.

Oxygen needed

He spoke to the BBC from a mobile phone on the plane an hour after it landed, and while passengers had to remain on board.

Mr Moore said: “The aircraft is full of holiday makers, a lot of them children, a lot of them elderly. One person has had to have oxygen.

“It is hot and sticky and people are losing their tempers and children are obviously fretting.

“I can understand why they are doing it, they are just not doing it quickly enough.”

It is believed some of the ill people had been together on a cruise.

The pilot contacted Leicestershire Health Authority over the passengers’ health.

People were allowed to leave the plane after 9pm.

Reminds me of that incident on a P&O cruise, but it was on a plane. 🙂
