Silly news #1

First in an occasional series of stories for a slow news day.

Man stabbed with Legend of Zelda Master Sword in serious condition

Pots were also smashed during altercation

Few could doubt the power of the Master Sword, not only has it defeated countless incarnations of Ganondorf in the Legend of Zelda series, but now it has hospitalised a Texan.

A man was stabbed with the point of a replica of the legendary sword during a domestic dispute in the city of Katy.

Eugene Thompson told police how his girlfriend called her ex-husband for help after they got into an argument, with Thompson drawing the sword as a means of defence.

“And I pulled it out and I stood in the doorway and he was just coming down that hall at me while I was yelling ‘Go away, you don’t live here,'” Thompson said.

“And he just walked right into the point. I don’t know if he thought it was a toy.”

The man declined to mention whether he collected any rupees following the incident.

The ex-husband was taken to hospital following the altercation, but not before he, in true Zelda fashion, smashed a pot (a flower pot, over the head of Thompson).

Police have yet to confirm whether or not charges will be filed.

I think that it is a brilliant idea. I will donate six rolls of duct tape and two of parcel.

Mind you, looking at the kids, butter wouldn’t melt in their mouth would it?. I bet they put that teacher through hell before she got it taped, as to what to do. Would the cane or Birch been more acceptable. My daughter is a Teaching Assistant, and she tells me, that kids know just the right buttons to push to wind her up, but stop just short of a good ear bashing.

Not all news makes the reporters work – that coming in from Ukraine won’t fill the entire paper itself, you know…;o)

I thought your use of the phrase “slow news day” rather inappropriate. From here there’s a fair bit going on!!!

Snaf

Are you retired or, does it rain a lot down your way?

??? I should be working…(shamefaced smilie would be here, but I am too lazy to go look for one)
And does it rain? It rains so much the cats have evolved webbed feet and snorkels.

Whats the matter – don’t you appreciate mildly amusing stories at the expense of other peoples dignity? I shall reserve the right to post mildly amusing or dull and offensive posts until I get bored. Or fired, whichever happens first.
