Singaore and Kuala Lumpur

Here’s a few shots taken on my recent trip to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur – something a bit different from Southend! I was very lucky with the weather when I was there – avoiding a tropic storm and getting a fair bit of sunshine.

Jetstar are a major player at Singapore with their A320s:

… and A330s:

LOts of other low cost airlines have a prescence at Singapore, including the infamous Lion Air:

Indonesia Air Asia:

Even though the Kangaroo Route flights now go through Dubai, Qantas maintains a considerable presence with 5 flights a day operated by A330s and 747s:

Cathay Pacific also maintains a very large presence with no less than 10 flights a day:

Singapore Airlines is however dominant:

Singapore Airlines maintains a greater presence still through its subsidiaries: Silkair

And its new long haul low cost subsiduary – Scoot, whose 777s have grown on me! Quite quirky branding!

Quite a few freighters also visit Singapore:

Thanks a lot glens45 – certainly is nice to be somewhere where everything is new. The nightshots were thanks to a conveniently placed ledge in the terminal!

Thanks Culpano – agree that the Far East can be very conducive. Was very lucky to get both the Bangladesh 737 and Myammar A320, as photos of aircraft going into very few gates can be got from the Viewing Area at Terminal 1. Almost as good as a week at Southend!

Finally a few from a quick visit to the rather good viewing area at Kuala Lumpur. Although a lot of the traffic cannot be photographed, it is easy to photography what is in within reach:

Malaysia Airlines is obviously dominant here:

Although BA does not serve Kuala Lumpur, KLM does:

And Malaysia Ailriens has a large 737 fleet for short haul flights:
