Sir W.G Armstrong, Whitworth & Co.

I’m looking for information (this is only one port of call) on AW’s very early attempts at aircraft manufacturing, particularly on the F.K. 1 to F.K.10 series, the F.M.4 Armadillo, and the Ara.

I’m looking for good plans, cutaway drawings, photographs, any known survivors or components, histories of any individual aircraft…. anything!

In addition, is there a list of serial numbers of the 27 BE2a’s built by AW at Cramlington? Did any of these aircraft have any kind of recorded history?

I’m a bit far from the RAF Museum archives or the National archives to have a rake around, so any leads will be greatly appreciated.
