I wrote this reply to a now locked thred in HA…since “anything goes” here, let me add my thoughts…
Setter, the word is censorship, and no, you have no right to know. You’ve kept on needling and pushing, fueling the speculation with little regard for the effect this may have on the outcome of any deals that may be in play. Have a little respect for what is, after all, a private concern. The public access to TFC is granted out of goodwill, try not to whittle that away, you might just spoil things for everyone.

I think you’re missing Setter’s point. I believe what he’s trying to say is as long as what he says isn’t libelous (thus opening the owners of this site to legal actions), how can TFC (or any firm) censor his posts here? If he identifies his opinions as merely that…opinions, I’d say he should be free to speculate all he wants.
After all, ofther posts here criticize countries, aircraft manufactuers, politicians, entire air forces, religions, even other posters…often without a shred of evidence to support those charges…but you’re saying a person can’t do some good natured speculation without the thought police coming down on him?
The owning of historic aircraft is a high visability venture. Collectors should appreciate what they do will attrcat attention and speculation. After all, registration records are public documents…and deals will become known.

I would suggest that the mere fact that TFC requested a thread to be removed somewhat indicates the serious or sensitive nature of information/speculation contained within it. They must have considered it extremely sensitive as I’m not aware that such a request has been made before.

Setter has scant regard for the impact of his posts on the people affected by the publication of any “news” he chooses to splurge all over the internet.
Knowledge carries responsibility, consideration and prudence.
