Six injured as Continental hits severe turbulence

Six people were injured when a Continental Airlines flight from Cleveland to Albany, US, encountered severe turbulence.

Two people were hospitalised with head and back injuries, the Times-Union reported.

Continental flight 2768 was struck by strong turbulence about 40 miles west of Albany.

A flight attendant and a passenger hit their heads on the ceiling of the plane’s cabin and fell to the floor, and other passengers were knocked around the cabin, Albany International Airport spokesman Doug Myers said.

The plane landed at Albany around 1:45pm. Multiple ambulances arrived on the scene and four people who were injured were examined by airport medical teams.

The injured people were not identified.
