SKY COMMUTER SUSPENDS OXFORD TO CAMBRIDGE

Sky Commuter has announced that, with immediate effect, it is suspending its Oxford to Cambridge scheduled flights. Launched little more than a month back, Sky Commuter attempted to develop a market for an air service between the two university cities. In a statement, the airline said ‘it has been obvious that the requirement for air travel on this route is not sufficient to even operate an eight seat aircraft’. Sky Commuter will continue its commitment to the ad hoc charter market.

The decision leaves both Oxford and Cambridge airports devoid of scheduled services (yet again), but it is reported that Rockhopper is evaluating the possibility of an Oxford to Jersey seasonal service.

Ah well, I suppose it goes to prove that AlphaNone at least got one thing right – not to start that route! 😉
