The Swiss ATC company “Skyguide” takes full responsibility for
the accident over the Boden lake and begs all families of those
died pardon. This is contained in a statement made on Wednesday
in Zurich by Skyguide general director Alen Rossier.
“We accept responsibility rest on us in the report released by
the Accident Investigation Department ( BFU) and we apologize to
the families of 71 victims,” the statement says.
The document was distributed before a news conference held by
Rossier in connection of the BFU report on the accident cause
investigation .
At the same time according to RIA NOVOSTI correspondent’s report
from a German town of Brauschenweig, no mention of the company
Skyguide is made in the materials on the investigation of the
accident over the Boden lake.
On the night July 2, 2002 at altitude of nearly 11 kilometers
over theBoden lake Tu-154 airplane owned by Bashkiria Airlines
collided with a cargo airplane Boeing 757. There were mainly
children aboard the Russian liner heading for Spain. AS a result
of the accident 71 people died including two pilots who flied
the Boeing.
