No, it’s on its initial take off run for the first flight. The picture has been incorrectly captioned. I took the picture so that’s how I’m so sure.
Thanks, Roobarb! And keep up the great work!

Is it really landing in that shot? The flaps aren’t down.

Reading Flypast nice pictures shame not as many in the field in India 1977 but………………..:stupid:
Is this fitted with the same engine from it’s time sat in the field?

Indeed – and it looks even better in the flesh. I was delighted to see it again last week!

The latest issue of Flypast has some more picture of SM845.
Looks stunning, well done to all on the HFL/ARCO team.

Yep that’s N3200 behind the Mk.18.
By: Sopwith - 10th November 2013 at 20:49
Is that N3200 in the background behind SM845? . Incidentally SM845 looks stunning. Nice to see something other than camouflage. Always thought MH434 looked great in her early civilian scheme.

One that sticks in my mind is the 4 Spits that had – albeit incorrect – ‘RF’ codes for the Battle of Britain scenes in the movie ‘Pearl Harbor’.
The three Mk.Vs flew together in formation at Duxford’s Battle of Britain show.

Same Squadron codes? Sounds excellent, i’ve long wanted to see a formation of aircraft in markings from the same unit. Imagine the Mk I Spitfires or a group of Hurricanes representing a section of the same Squadron, would look stunning!
Agreed – this is something I would love to see happen more often.

Then there was Legends a few years back when there were the 3 Mustangs in 78th FG markings – BBD, Twilight Tear and a TF-51D from Chino.
The two ‘FX’ coded Spits at Biggin will look great flying in formation.
Let’s hope there’s a lot more of this kind of display in the future.
Rich.

But then it’d be just like every other boring Spit, they’re even going extra boring at Biggin & putting them in same Sqn codes now
