Smithsonian conservation hangar

Saw these at Dulles last month but I’ve no idea what they are, the first one looks like a 262 but I don’t think it is. Anyone able to help with a type and registration of both please.

Thanks in advance

According to “War Prizes” by P.Butler [Midland, 1994] the identity of the Nakajima Kikka prototype appears unclear. Two later incomplete prototypes were taken to the US, A-103 and A-104, and the author suggests that A-103 may be the surviving example. Perhaps more detail has surfaced since?

Thanks Both.

Tim, their website is great but the only thing it lacks is the registrations and serial numbers for the aircraft. Do you have any ideas of the identities of these two?

Thanks

Their website provides all the information on these items if you drill down into it:

It’s a wonderful collection isn’t it – interested to see the JRS-1 is now out of wraps – it was covered in poly when I went there!

Nakajima Kikka and Sikorsky JRS-1 at a guess.
