SN Brussels Airlines, the Belgian Flag carrier and Virgin Express are negotiating a co-operation to change the flight schedules so that there are no unique destinations flown to at the same time. So finally there will be some co-operation as this was long negotiated. There are no contracts signed yet, but we’ll know it in a week.

Akkoord SNBA en Virgin Express is bijna rond
di 14/09/04 – De luchtvaartmaatschappijen SN Brussels Airlines en Virgin Express beslissen deze week over een samenwerking. Dat schrijft De Tijd vandaag. Volgens de krant is het akkoord bijna rond.
SNBA en Virgin Express zorgen samen voor een derde van alle passagiers op Zaventem.
De beslissing om te gaan samenwerken viel in maart van dit jaar, maar het concreet uitwerken van de plannen verliep niet van een leien dakje. Vandaag zouden de meeste juridische en financiële problemen weggewerkt zijn.
De raad van bestuur van de holding die beide maatschappijen gaat overkoepelen, hakt morgen de knoop door. Officieel kan het nog altijd twee kanten uit: samenwerken of niet. Aangezien de voorzitter van de raad van bestuur, Etienne Davignon, volgende week al de vakbonden samenroept, wordt het wellicht het eerste.
SNBA en Virgin Express worden zusterbedrijven en gaan hun bestemmingen en de frequentie waarmee ze vliegen op elkaar afstemmen. De overkoepelende holding zal luisteren naar de naam SN Air Holding.
Beide maatschappijen behouden wel hun eigen identiteit. Virgin Express blijft zoals vandaag een lage-kostenmaatschappij en SNBA richt zich meer op zakenmensen. Samen zijn ze goed voor een derde van alle passagiers op Zaventem.
As you may have noticed this is my first post in a month. This is because I am very busy at the moment, I am moving in a few days. I regularly check the forum if there are a few interesting subjects, but I found that the forum is a bit “asleep” the latest weeks.
After I moved and when the internet conenction there is restored And the unpacking calms down, I’ll probably post some more around here.

I hope a merger isnt on the cards. SN Brussels in Belgiums national carrier and should remain as such. The Virgin name is getting on me wick a bit, its moving into the states, already in Oz. In my experience Virgin isnt anything special neither is its fares particularly economy.
I have no doubt Mr Bransons upper class is outstanding but the economy is the same if not worse than other carriers including BA. We economy dont get a masseur do we or a facial! Virgin is overrated, Virgin sun however, was a good charter airline.
I doubt SN Brussels wants Virgin Express tired old 737-300s, they want new A319s

hmmm, i’d like to see it before i believe it. How often has this merger not been proposed? This must be their 3rd or 4th attempt.
