Ha – Beautiful shots, many thanks for the close-up view.

I was leaving work on Madingley Road, Cambridge, this afternoon at about 16:00ish and heard the unmistakable sound of a war-bird engine and sure enough, it was followed by an unmistakable shape just low enough that I could see the stripes on the wings.

I was pretty sure it was Snafu so your pictures have confirmed it.

I stopped in the carpark to watch the free air display way out in the distance over Duxford before heading for home. My first airborne warbird spot of the year!

That’s one beautiful aircraft 😀

Why did they get rid of one P-47 only to get another? Same with the P-40.

Possibly because one P47/P40 is rarer than the other one.
Or
The deal was too good to pass up.
Or
Because they can.

Wonderful looking aircraft

Fantastic shots Jamie, nice to see distance pics with plenty of sky, especially liking the one with the B-17 in the foreground. The third from last shot really shows off the size of the P-47!:)

🙂 Beautiful, just a shame she could’nt have flown with No Guts No Glory before she went.

Why did they get rid of one P-47 only to get another? Same with the P-40.
