Snapper – Prawns ??

Look, that was drowned in fresh water and boiled in June. It was then chilled for a day, and finally eaten. Its shell was binned in pieces, it’s flesh was washed down with Sauvignon, in pieces, split between two people, it was dissolved in hut acid, and finally **** back into the sea via a cfew miles of pipes.

I’m not convinced , this will be some Lowestoft initiation ceremony , they ask you to break up a Lobster – and the barstard latches onto your arm and bites you , THEN the Lobster wakes up and jumps on you.:D

Of course it’s dead. Thats why it’s that colour. Theyre blueish when they ain’t dead and boiled.

I caught the cockles and ussels in the freezer section of the fish market. The rest I caught in my nets one morning. Apart from the lemons of course.

Yep – near Margate. It’s Shelly Beach, and then onto Protea Reef. Lovely.

They have lots of riots there. My auntie has 3 boats running charter fishing (game fishing) from Natal. I worked 3 months for her when I was 18.

on elittle nasty that sometimes comes up in the net is that ******* of the sea, the weever fish. Do not, whatever you do, let the dorsal spine prick you. That is seriously bad news. I get them out of the net without touching them, slaughter them, cut the spines off, and ditch them over the side. Nasty little things to touch they are.

Hey , I caught one of them in Kinlochourn Bay !!! , are they wee reddy *******s ?? , I caught on on Mackerel feathers and swung it into our open rowing boat , never seen so many people trying to jump overboard at the one time !!! , erm well I have actually but that involved 9 Brits , 2 Thai’s and a shark – they never told us it had to be dead before gaffing it on board , my mate Howard swung it onto the boat in one easy move and it went berzerk for some reason , took 4 of us 20mins to beat it to death with the oars.

Before Persil bags I used small pieces of net. Stockings would have worked too.

The net lies on the bottom. The cone is formed when you pull it up, so that crabs / prawns / lobsters / fish etc fall to the bottom with gravity and drag. If the cone isn’t loose enough, you won’t do so well.

Prawns don’t nip / bite / sting, however, if you manage to spike yourself on their nostrum (the barbed horn on the top of their head, and the main difference between a prawn and a shrinp) it can break off in your skin and seriously **** you off after a while. Crabs and lobsters can give quite a nip. Pick the crabs up from the back, and the lobsters behind the head.

I am not scared of tiger prawns or piranhas – or even any of the species of shark we have off our shores (oh yes we do!), however, on elittle nasty that sometimes comes up in the net is that ******* of the sea, the weever fish. 6 tammy’s and a johnny is damn good going. Sometimes I would kill to do that well. The best is Gorleston pier – as soon as the tide changes you will snag up with multiples of both, plus toilet paper coating all the line below the water. Not a good idea to fish in the harbour mouth.
