Snow in the U.k and maybe other places.

Hi,
just wondering why is it when it snows at U.K airports and possibly other places they are never prepared,where as airports in the snow alot seem to survive without any major delays or anything?Is it something to do with equipment?

Wasnt JFK closed once?

a bmi flight my dad was on told pax. that they were delayed as they couldnt see the taxiline because of snow at LHR so they just stopped on the spot until a Follow Me car came and made sure they took right taxiways etc!

You know I remember 2 years ago ORY closed 6 hours (!!!!)because of 5cm of snow.

It’s not a UK only problem :rolleyes:
