dark light

So farewell then Anna Nicole Smith

I always had a slight admiration for this girl (no not just the boobies). Think of her what you will, but I think we’re one ‘character’ short of a full deck today.

Just 39 too…

Just means some other poor sod will have the paparazzi Hyenas all over them, now that their regular “groundhog day” subject has gone.

Thank goodness they finally buried the poor girl. I was beginning to be afraid that someone would put her on display like Lenin.:D

Can you beleive the utter crap surronding the funeral over the last while culminating in this business of selling the Tv rights…..

What sort of society are we living in in this world wide media age?

“Alcohol and pills, it’s a crying shame
You’d think they might’ve been happy with the glory and the fame
But fame doesn’t take away the pain, it just pays the bills
And you wind up on alcohol and pills” Fred Eaglesmith

It’s a sad case, for sure.
I hope everythign works out well for the baby.

The only tragedy is the poor baby.

Otherwise this hole thing is just another disgusting, celeb with no moral compass dead and gone. Hardly a loss to society. The way the media is going I guess she will be the new patron saint of celeb tramps. Here today, gone tomorrow. If she served one purpose in life, that would be as a warning sign to others of what not to be. Misery accomplished.

Of course, forgetting she was actually Human. Yes, that’s correct. Human. The same as you and I.

What a disgusting and ignorant attitude.

Indeed a very sad thing for someone to die so young….the really sad part is her baby girl….I hope she finds a nice, loving home. I’m not so sure that Howard K. Stern is the best father figure for her…..I don’t know him though so I’ll leave the judgments for others…..

In my personal opinion this tragedy is a great example of the many things I find wrong with society in my country these days. Everything is about being rich and famous and when you have either or both of those “titles”, you are allowed to live a life with few rules and in an atmosphere that is permissive of bad behavior such as drug addiction or partying just about every single day.

I’m only 23, and just out of college, and yes I did a lot of partying in college and when I get together with friends I still like to do that…..but the extent of that type of thing that goes on in Hollywood is just mind boggling. Look at all the famous people who’ve needlessly died over the years because they got involved with drugs will living a care free, party filled life….Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and several others come to mind.

The worst part is that a lot of the American public just eats up the whole celebrity thing. They hang on every word these people say, and yearn to life the “life” that celebrities have. The reality is that many celebrities aren’t as happy as an average person like many of us would think….they are low on self-esteem and they came from a bad background, with Anna Nicole Smith being a good example of this. Her life was a trainwreck waiting to happen, and I’m sad to say that her death doesn’t really surprise me. That may sound cruel, but that’s not how I meant it. She clearly needed help, and it’s tragic that help didn’t reach her sooner, otherwise her life might have been saved.

Ideally, I hope this tragedy serves as a wake-up call for the average American, but realisitically I know that it likely will not…..some people will continue to live their lives in a way that will only lead to despair and tragedy…..

I’m not sure how many of your view the popular culture in your respective countries, but I see America heading in the wrong direction….traditional values and things of that nature are simply being thrown out the window in favor of a more permissive and care-free atmosphere, and I dread to think where it will all lead us……indeed it makes me very sad to think of it.

It’s quite interesting to hear the viewpoint from someone who lives in the US. I have to say though, I think wanting to live the life ‘celebrities’ do extends to the UK to a large extent as well. Poeple seem fascinated by those who are in the public eye, and I, in all honesty can’t understand why.

From a quick internet search Anna Nicole Smith’s son, Daniel Wayne Smith, died last September aged only 20, it would seem from a drug related incident. Anna Nicole’s final months I would imagine weren’t all that happy.

Very sad. 😡

Phantom11,
I don’t know who you are,
However,
I’ve watched your threads over recent times on many issues and am surprised that you are are still of a comparitively tender age.
What pulls me up is your maturity and humanity in considering cases such as this.
You have a lot to offer ,
good on You,
Keep it up!

Sad to see the death of someone way before their time ..and lets not forget that there is a baby without a mother, a mother who by all accounts was totally devoted to her offspring.

Isnt it sick to see all the Vultures suddenly springing up claiming fatherhood all of a sudden? god help the child .

RIP Anna,
I know some people talk of her “Golddigging” but there was always something intresting and compelling about her and i don’t mean just sexually either, She was a character in a largely faceless world.

RIP Anna,
Sad for anyone to die so young, I always saw her almost as a parody or a Cartoon somebody not quiet real. I wonder if she ever really knew herself, She seemed a bit empty inside at times.
