Just had a call from Patty.
He has a mobile phone when he is in the UK. This is because he can’t reach the handset in public phones.
So, various people are arriving at Popham at about 11am on Saturday. There will be coffee drinking and slagging off in abundance.

Norfolk is a great place – celebrated in that well known phrase “Norfolk ‘n’ good”… :diablo:
Adrian
(from Essex, so it’s nice to be able to be rude about another county for a change! Besides, we probably had more Battle of Britain airfields than you so Nerrrr!)

Norwich? Right. Andy – I’m at work tomorrow 830-2.30. Say you’re still in the area and want a pint, give me a call on 01603 701990 and we can all have one when I leave off. Be good to see Steve. There’s a pub in Thorpe called the Griffin, close to the A47…..

Ian, your PM box is full.
I’ve no idea where they’re going to visit – Norfolk’s just a series of turnip fields isn’t it?
Steve’s mobile number is 07910 477 663.
Robbo 🙁 Whats your problem with Norfolk, Its a whole lot more pretty than Croydon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anna :diablo: :diablo: :diablo: :dev2:

He’s sure not to mind his mobile being circulated amongst friends. Good job no one else on the world wide web can see this.

There are one or two things in Norfolk that hold an interest for me….

I’m nipping across to the colonies while the coast is clear, I’ve been told that there are a number of unguarded Warbirds in the Kansas City area. Bidding will start at $?????

You really have to leave Norfolk to appreciate it fully 🙂

They’re on their way as we speak.
Any idea of their intended itinerary? Had I known before, I might have been able to arrange some time off work to meet them – not that they’re that desperate!

I’ve just had a conversation with Steve’s Tour Manager. It went like this:
“So you’re off to show Steve a bit of culture today then?”
“Yes”
“Well why are you driving him to Norwich then?”
“I’m going now…….”
When is he coming to Norwich? Is that really fair??!! He’ll be OK though as there’s no snow here.

let your poor old humour die in peace then. 😉
By: Dave Homewood - 3rd March 2005 at 10:11
I did pick up on that fact, sorry, just my poor humour
By: Eddie - 3rd March 2005 at 09:58
I think that Steve was probably referring to thermal underwear 😉 It’s a bit bloody cold!
By: Dave Homewood - 3rd March 2005 at 09:05
Has Patty got his thermals with him?
Is the Rearwin a glider then? 😀
I think perhaps, with all this snow outside and coffee inside, a thermos is a more appropriate piece of luggage
I wish you the very best of success for the flight of your beautiful restoration Melvyn. Don’t forget in the flight check beforehand to remove the pitot cover though, otherwise it may be frozen chicken for dinner.

Gee, Popham in Sno or Australia in sunshine. lemmie see…. Ooo, tough one.
You never sa anythink nice while I’m there, so I can’t see a difference. Hah. I’ll jus’ trundle along to Avalon (www.airshow.net.au) in a couple of weeks while you folks think about airshows. Smug? Nah.
I don’t think they’re all coming for the Hunting Melv… 😉 Also, remember, he’s not a Rearwin test pilot, he’s a very naughty boy, as I’m sure you’ll all inform him. 😎
Have a good coffee!
