So how many Iranian MiG-29s are out there

I was reading some daft propaganda piece about 100 Iranian MiG-29s being upgraded.

I’ve never seen anything this high.

Iran was meant to have acquired following MiG-29s based on reasonable estimates:

Order 1: 14 single seat, 6 dual-seat, 1 destroyed in accident in delivery flight.

Order 2: 11 MiG-29 – 4 delivered, 7 cancelled.

Order 3: 48 aircraft ordered, all cancelled by Russians

Ad hoc delivery: 3 single seat + 1 dual seat from Iraq. Dual seater entered service, single seaters were cannibalised for parts.

2007 – 50 RD33 engines ordered and delivered as part of upgrade program. SLEP and upgrade components cancelled. 50 engines would assume 25 a/c.

So we can see that in terms of active service Iran has received:

18 MiG-29
7 MiG-29UB (including 1 from Iraq)
TOTAL: 25 a/c

3 other MiG-29 were cannibalised for spares.

Current fleet saw loss of 1 MiG-29 on 10/10/2012.

Hence current fleet should 24 a/c.

The serials seems to support this. All Iranian single seaters were assigned numbers in 3-61XX range. These never go higher than 3-618 except 3-6132 and 3-6133.

Dual seaters are in 3-63XX range and never go higher than 3-6307.

Two single seat aircraft number 3-6132 amd 3-6133 have been spotted. These are serials assigned to upgraded aircraft though Scramble lists them as the ex-Iraqi aircraft.

Has anyone got any information to counter this? Have there been any other deliveries to Iran that I have not listed?
