Apparently ‘rapture’ is here and most of the world’s population will be dead by 21st October 2011:

and the titanic was unsinkable !!
nothing in life is guaranteed it is a scientific estimate ( sometimes just as wrong as the nut job religious !! )
and wich scientist has been around 5 billion years to observe it ( ok appart from patrick moore !! ):)
just as likeley tommorow as 5 billion years !!
You sound like a “flat-earther”……;)

…and the titanic was unsinkable !!
Well evidentially it wasn’t! In fact the builder and operator only ever claimed it was ‘virtually unsinkable’. Big difference.
Anyway back to the end of the world…
…just as likeley tommorow as 5 billion years !!
No, it isn’t…..that sort of ‘logic’ debases science.
Just because science isn’t always right it doesn’t make crackpot religious predictions any more valid!

I think, as far as the sun is concerned, we have about 5 billion years left before it starts to swell and envelop us.

I think, as far as the sun is concerned, we have about 5 billion years left before it starts to swell and envelop us……..there will probably be several destructions and resurrections of life in some form or other on Earth before then…..
By: tornado64 - 25th May 2011 at 09:58
these things have been around since the beggining of man !!
ironicly the one who is the first right one won’t be able to say ” i told you so !! “
the only sure thing is the world will end eventualy , maybe tommorow , maybe thousands of years off
the suns fuel isn’t never ending and once that goes we go
although it has to be said with the frequency of world disasters i’m edging on the end being sooner rather than later !!

I like that thought!!:D

Anybody who was stupid enough to give away all their money and belongings probably deserved it. Of course, they could take a philosophical view and consider the moment after the anticipated rapture to be a new genesis.

What will happen is, in a week or so he will pop up somewhere saying he got his calculations wrong,
Baz, You must be a mind reader, he said exactly that today live on T.V.;)

Roll on October for the next 6 month extension….I wonder at what point his credibility, if he still has any, is shot?

If it was the end of the world and you only had five minutes, what would you do?
Skip the foreplay! :diablo:

I did it, and discovered that there was, in fact, no fluff at all in my navel.

Harold Camping should now be arrested, his property and assets seized, sold, and monies distributed among the thousands he conned. He should then be sent to prison where this miserable, low life scum bag deserves to be.
What will happen is, in a week or so he will pop up somewhere saying he got his calculations wrong, that the end of the world will be 6th July 2012 and he needs more donations to spread the word.
If there is any reason to become an aetheist, its him.

Wasn’t that guy, some chap, high up in the Whitehouse, named OBAMA? 😀
On a more serious note, I am a member on several USA forums, one of which is a gun forum. I cannot believe that the members say what they do, and get away with it. I have even seen it said that they positivly hate Obama, and would “Dispose” of him if they could.`

I just read on BBC News that one guy had invested £86,000. Crazy!

Can’t blame the creep for manipulating stupid people.
As Agent Mulder said, “I want to believe”, and most of us do so we open ourselves to these control-freaks and their nonsense. Conning people is as old as prostitution and a good way to get rich. 😉
Ahhhhh, The good old X Files, never miss a showing of it on T.V. , now whilst I want to believe, for now I will just have to accept, that the answere is out there.;)

On days like this one it’s quite possible. Was going to go and have a look at the events at Wolverhampton Intergalactic Business Spaceport but as it’s taken almost an hour to walk a total of 400 yards this morning I think I’ll stay closer to home.
On topic though, I wonder whether those who subscribe to such theories as those propounded by Dr. Camping are able to cope with the repeated disappointment? It must shake their faith to some degree, or does the belief continue but their faith in Mr. Camping diminishes?

So, we’ve survived.
With the amount of pain I’m in this morning I’m not yet sure whether I’m thrilled or disappointed.
