So, the JSF candidates, which was the better aircraft?

Got a little inspiration from Meats “Monica” thread.:)

For some reason, I get the feeling the X-32 got booted because it was too ugly. The X-32 was no beauty(IMO), but the X-32 sure helped improve its looks!

How did the two compare in terms of performance? Speed, load capability, maneuverability etc? Granted the production model of the -32 would be a totally different aircraft, especially with the addition of a tail. What’s your take on it?
