So what will be this years best airshow to attend?

We’ve already had a which airshows are you going to thread but that didn’t say what we thought was going to be the best.

I shall probably be at all or most of the DX and Old Warden events plus a trip to Oshkosh, Wings over Michigan and Malta.

Having not been to a US display I am guessing that The Michigan show will be special. But how does it compare to other shows around the world?

The question therefore being which are the top airshow events of 2005?

I’d be glad to hear your views.

Even though i have no chance of going, i’d say Malta. Not only for the fact theres a Spitfire and Hurricane, but also the completion of the restoration of the Hurricane at the museum there and the new building, and most importantly the sheer fact its Malta, one of the most famous places in aviation history, and one of the most interesting to me, going from on the verge of destruction and defended by a few Gladiators, to attacking the enemy with Beaufighters e.t.c., it should be a film!

Agreed!

Without a doubt surely the events in Malta has to be this years most significant? Lets face it anyone who puts an airshow on gets a thumbs up from me but to fly a Spit and Hurri all the way to Malta is just fabulous.

I think i will have to book up this weekend!

I do hope the project is going okay? Does anyone know if this event has been confirmed?

I thought he was talking about Surface-to-Air missiles.

Flying Legends for the flying display.

Oshkosh – just to see a town which normally contains 25,000 people turn into an aviators heaven for a week with 800,000 aviation obsessed people and thousands and thousands of every type of aeroplane under the sun.

But Janie – He’ll never know what the halcyon days of the Squadron / Aces High / Fighter Meet were all about. 🙁

I’m looking forward to Cosford next sunday. I still see it as my home town airshow.
Good line up too.

Mike I shall be giving the 300D a shakedown at OW this Sunday. Weather looks like it may not be fabulous, but nothing forecast to match LFA.

Mike, that’s what I was going to say – “It was LFA, but you’ve already missed it!” (Shame about the weather though)
