Hi,

G-WJAN was only built in 1997. Manchester is mainly an A321 base this Summer for MyTravel with B757 and B767 short and mid haul rotations also within the flying programme. There are also quite a lot of SSH, HRG, Turkey and other destinations being operated by A330s.

The 757 situation is very confusing at MYT at the moment, the purpose of
G-WJAN is unknown, what routes is this operating and where is it based.
I never understood why Airtours gave 2 of their good 757’s G-CSVS and
G-LCRC away, these werent that old only built in early 1990’s about 10 years newer than G-PIDS etc. Surely MYT must be thinking of ridding of G-WJAN as it is non standard now and may replace it with an A321 from somewhere.
A swap with Monarch perhaps.

Thanks MyTravel UK, i think I will opt for the B767 😎 So has the second 763 joined the fleet yet, and will it get painted in full MYT livery?

plus, are there anymore 757’s arriving as looking on the timetable on the Manchester Airport website nearly every flight (well the ones I looked at) are scheduled to be op by 757’s?

Cheers Charlie

Hi,

I am planning on going on MYT111/112 to FUE, according to the website these are operated by a 763. can anybody confirm this?

The flight on the 26th July is scheduled as MYT195 and is a Wednesday 07:00 A321-211 departure, however if you opt for the Saturday departure (22nd or 29th) at 16:25, this is the MYT111 and is operated by a B767-31K subject to operational changes – the B767 has around 30”seat pitch as it is normally used for long haul operations whereas the A321 is standard UK charter configuration at around 28β€œ. The A321 may possibly have been fitted with leather seats and improved seat padding by July though.

No problems with a 737-700, last year having a 737-300 was a bit of a bad move. Good to see AEU saw sense.

Never happy are you?

If anything, the fact that the 73G is here, enables them to try out more interesting routes, the 737 will be less of a risk than the 757.

I suppose new more exciting routes have been added, however last year basing a 737-300 was a mistake, the amount of tech problems. Glad they have a 737-700 this year, but would of rather of seen a 757.

Most likely, i hope to see them at LBA again, much rather have them than Astreaus.

I tell you what, in terms of routes starting, Astraeus have been one of the best things that have happened charter wise!

Because they are not tied to a major tour op, they can operate routes on behalf of a number of different operators, making the routes easier to sell.

HER, RHO, CFU, ZTH, TCP, VRN, FNC were not operated by MyTravel in their last year of operation, AEU operate them this year!

The blue bellied orange MyT logoed A330 is OV-VKF I think, on lease for the summer. It has been in BFS a few times in recent weeks.

What’s wrong with Astraeus (apart from the lack of IFE on the 737s πŸ˜‰ )?

The 767 would of been G-SJMC, this is used alot as a stand by aircraft, often does alot of subcharters etc, i went on it on its timetabled service, it needs a bit of an update. The A330 could be a Skyservice on lease.
