So Where Next?

So the headlines now are Israel and Gaza and The DR Congo. Peaceful place this world isn’t it

Israel has been populated by sabre-rattling war-mongering fascists since the late 1940’s, why get concerned at the media bringing them back into the spotlight?

My mum and her family walked out of the Congo twice in the sixties, past piles of bodies with their heads taken off with pangas; driving behind UN Gurkhas that hordes of rebels were tying to pull from their trucks, waving pangas; avoiding rape and murder from rebels high as kites, sleeping on the floor with mattresses agaist the walls . It had no real effect on the rest of the world then, nor did the last slaughter there or any other African bloodbath.

Clearly journalists are bored wth Saville/BBC and the PCC elections didn’t give them a story.

Oh, there have been over 10000 killed in Burma this year, for what it’s worth.

Another 5000 in Pakistan.

Sudan isn’t much fun right now, nor Mali, nor Libya and you may want to avoid Colombia, Yemen and all those other poxy little ****holes where life is worth nothing to anyone else.

Meanwhile, should I make a nice curry for tea tomorrow or a pie? A far more important consideration as the far-flung world continues to revolve into a tailspin without any need for assistance or notice from me.
