Sobelair is in trouble

Sobelair houdt belangrijke ondernemingsraad
di 16/12/03 – Bij vliegtuigmaatschappij Sobelair is een belangrijke ondernemingsraad bezig. De directie vraagt een nieuwe inlevering van het personeel om het noodlijdende bedrijf te redden.
Sobelair heeft zo’n 10 miljoen euro nodig om de winter – traditioneel het kalme seizoen voor chartervluchten – door te komen. De directie werkt al weken aan een herstelplan. Ze vraagt dat ook het personeel zijn duit in het zakje doet, met een inlevering van ongeveer 20 procent op de lonen.

Maar het personeel steigert. Want toen Sobelair een nieuwe start nam na het faillissement van Sabena, is er al fors ingeleverd. Over een nieuwe inlevering valt voor het personeel maar te praten als er spijkerharde garanties zijn voor het voortbestaan van Sobelair.

Die garanties slaan onder meer op een nieuwe kapitaalsinbreng door eigenaar Aldo Vastapane, een herschikking van de uitstaande schuld bij de Sabena-curatoren en een heronderhandeling van de dure leasingcontracten voor enkele vliegtuigen.

Vrijdag moet Sobelair met een geloofwaardig herstelplan naar de handelsrechtbank. Anders dreigt voor de chartermaatschappij het faillissement. Bij Sobelair werken 450 mensen.
