RE: SOE film
Charlotte Gray is a fictional character.
The lady who was with Cate Blanchett at the premiere, is Australian Nancy Wake, who worked with the resistence in Europe during WWII. She was on the Gestapo’s ‘most wanted’ list, and referred to her as the “White Mouse”, as she always eluded capture.

RE: SOE film
I thought that when Charlotte Gray was at the premiere last night it was actually to recall and honour her activities during WWII with the SOE and that was what the film was a dramatisation of.

RE: SOE film
It’s based on a book by Sebastian Faulks.
If you haven’t read any of his stuff just stop wasting time on this forum, pop down to WH Smith and buy yourself a copy of Birdsong. NOW!
It’s about WW1 ground pounders by and large with no aviation content whatsoever, but I’d be surprised if you didn’t rate it amongst the top 5, just behind Gift of Wings, Piece of Cake, Bomber and the Cruel Sea (In no particular order)
Hope the film makers haven’t bu**ered up a perfectly good book making Charlotte Gray.
