Soko Kraguj Gunship Cache Where Are They Now ?

Does anyone know what happened to the cache of 5 or 6

Soko Kraju gunships that was stored at Sopley Camp. They

where I believe possibly ex Shoreham and ex the late Mr Mike Roberts

sadly killed in an aircrash well publicesed at the time.He also lately owned

one of the three airworthy Kraju in the country that being G-RADA.

Any information or contact details appreciated.

Or any leads to surplus airframe parts such as Tail fin,Rudder, tailplane, outer

main planes, top cowl,Engine and prop.Paperwork or approval to fly not really

needed.

Understand there may also be substantial numbers of airframes and parts still

out in eastern europe any leads appreciated. Also any Airframe manuals,

maintenance manuals, etc. I have also been told that some parts may exist

possibly in very poor condition in the Biggin Hill area again leads much appreciated.

Must be a reason for not answering on emails or phone calls. Some stock and some airplanes are available for UK market

Sounds like a pretty stock reply for we have them but we dont really want to sell them !!!!.

Pretty much like the aircraft we have been chasing in Bosnia for the last few months its there but no one will make their minds up about it.They dont seem to realise these aircraft are pretty underrated and dont fetch much on the market. The last one went for about £16,000 with a load of spares and current paperwork. But sadly somepeople try to inflate the market price thinking its worth gold like all the Migs in Albania for sale since 2002 they will still be there in another 10 years at the silly money prices being asked.

I have also found another Kraguj complete and potentialy airworthy even though she has not flown since 2001 she has been ground run regularily.
I cant say much more at this time except she is 30113 c/nO13.

Just getting the hammer out for my piggy bank.

To NATO – a target!

Yes but to demonstrate how good they where Nato did not shoot them down they only threatened if they did not put them on the ground. Then of course they where easy targets .But that isnt sporting is it ??.

Even an F16 can hit something that isnt moving or on its own side !!!!!!!

Thank you David did your parents never tell you that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit?.

Of course I meant its new home up here in Gods County with another of its breed.

What do you call a gathering of Kraguj I wonder ?.

Not sure about that because, beside J-20, Soko have had only one other piston engine project – Soko 522 http://sr.wikipedia.org/sr-el/%D0%90%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%BE%D0%BD_522. (they designed it to exploit a pile of overhauled P&W R1340 fmrYU got from USA during 1950s :))

I’d rather look similarity with constructions the Utva fabricated in Pancevo…

Looks a bit like a Harvard on steroids !!!!!

And here you are few more tips:

For possible help you can contact the Museum in Belgrade http://www.muzejrv.mod.gov.rs/pages_files/parter_files/partexpo/j20_files/j20.html – click on the upper/right „kontakt“ bar button.

For info regarding markings and color schemes of the exYU AF’s J-20 Kragujs, try via http://www.aeropoxy.netfirms.com/

… and a little bit off topic…see how good it looks even on a shelf J

Well, I think that’s all I can contribute your project at the moment… Good luck and keep inform us about progress.

Cheers!

Thank you so much for your contribution,I wish I could understand the stuff in half of the articles you kindly have given links for.
I get the impression that the language may be something you are familiar with and wonder if you would be kind enough to look at some of the brochure/manual technical stuff as I have been led to understand that at least one of the Soko family of aircraft I understand High wing shares the same basic wings and tail assembly as the J20 I cant seem to make sense of it but if you or anyone else happens to stumble upon the link it would be greatly appreciated as it might just expand the possible spares sources for the aircraft. And yes I have already approached the museum in Belgrade as they have or control the storage of the majority of the Kraguj aircraft still in exsistance.

Indeed, the Soko Aviation Industry is almost a brown field now (speaking of plane production – and by the way, none of F16 or any other allies plane didn’t “help” for that happen ;-), but as far as I know J-20s were maintaned & overhauled by http://www.vzmoma.com/engleski/index.htm.
How about to start from there with your project?

Thank you I will make contact with them.
