If you are doing some delicate work on a cockpit or whatever and you want a neat job, without nuts and bolts or pop rivets. Solder it, yes, you can solder ally. This was shown to me about forty years ago. Do an experiment first. Obtain a piece of 20g alloy or finer, cut a tag which is going to be soldered to the piece of ally. Put some Three in One oil on the ally and sand through the oil, add a little more oil and apply soldering iron and solder through the oil, do the same with the tag, a simple practice, but is a neat job.

Interesting advice. Thank You.
Now trying to pluck up the courage to tidy up some repairs on the Tipsy’s engine cowling.
…..and I think I’ll practice a lot on some scrap first!! 😉
