Great isn’t it when you vault one of those brick walls that stand in your way en-route to the vital bit of paper? The next is solo consolidation 🙂

Janie – it was a PA28 G-BTGY from Stapleford

Damian – i was doing the same! once i was settled downwind i made my radio call them just sat there thinking ‘o my god im actually flying this thing!’ inbetween shouting ‘solo baby!’ – i almost forgot my pre-landing checks!! what a feeling….

thanx for all the replies – reading them has got me buzzing again! gotta get a photo on my next solo as i didnt have my camera with me! i idnt think it was going to happen because of the weather.

Felicitations Tony! For me it was 5 years ago, nearly to the day, and I did find myself telling that story again this week-end to a friend of mine, as I’m sure you’ll do too many many times… 😉

… it’ll cost you less than the other one!

The “other” first being one’s first Bitchfest with Hiscock behind the bike sheds at Popham. Always an emotional event.

Congratulations Tony,

It is the second-best ‘first’ you will have!

And in the end it’ll cost you less than the other one!

well done,

Melv

Bravo Tony!
What aeroplane did you fly and which flying school were you at?
