Bit of an old fashioned idea this but it works onother sites:
I enjoyed opics of DX event as I couldn’t be there. Repetition was a bit of a problem if I (and others) were honest. Ain’t digital photography magic though. I look at pics I took with with a 300mm and 2 x converter years ago and they are rubbish c/f todays out put.
So solution to clogging up what is actually a discussion board is:
We have a good old fashioned links page to embrace piccies from individuals web pages. That way we can book mark say Damiens, MOTF or Robbos (or who ever I havan’t mentioned) pictures without losing the purpose of a discussion forum. I leave it the experts to further hone and develop this idea.

Solution: something mixed in fluid.
Example: whisky and soda.
Answer: take the soda out.

Well I looked at a large number of hurricane piccies relating to last week end. Great, and better than any I have in my archive at home, but if we are honest there was some replication.
I do feel we should sort out some sort of filtering system without offending the ability or ego of any of the capable photographers we have here.
For regular forum members I felt that the knowledge they could use “X, Y or Z’s” site to view piccies would be a solution.
In the infancy of media on the web I had a site with piccies from DX and basic real player video of events and appalling though the quality is by todays standards it was a useful site, judging by the enquiries I recieved. It seems to me that todays photographers could benefit from the same set up and add value with other pics or higher resolution (even at a price if I can say that)
I do intend to re code some of the video clips (including NW fighter meet as and when time allows. If anyone has a solution to the “when time allows” bit I would be greatful!

…or when they say “Todays Duxford pics”
How else can you interpret that? 😀
Precisely.
Are we talking 7th or 8th of May 2005?

But we know which are picture threads and which aren’t.
Usually by the length of time they take to open… – Nermal

Surely the pictures are integral to any thread bout the show? I say leave it as is. Maybe everyone contributes to one thread, or not. But we know which are picture threads and which aren’t.

I dont have a web page and have no intention of setting one up. I merely use the free space I get with my package to host the pictures I put up here.
Nice suggestion though.
The solution is for us to clearly mark threads with images in and for people who dont want to view them not to open them. Simple really.
