As part of my on-going collection of Spitfire models, I expanded into 1/32 scale. The story so far.
The Hobby Boss Mk.Vb
New Revell Mk.I (based on the Hasegawa kit)
Pacific Coast Mk.IXc
Pacific Coast Mk.XIVc
and a Mk.XII converted from the Hasegawa Mk.VI and a Grey Matter kit.

Very nice! I have the Revell Spitfire I/IIa in my stash, plus I did the Matchbox (now Revell) Spitfire F.24 a few months back.
Interested to see the 1/24th scale Spitfire XVI conversion, though!!

Thanks Steve. The PCM kits weren’t too bad, just a bit of fettling here and there. The decals were superb though.
For the MkXII, I used the 91Sqn markings from the PCM MkXIV. I ended up getting a pair of Grey Matter ‘C’ wings as modifying the Hasegawa wings was just too difficult.
I was hoping the New Revell Spitfire might be at Telford. We’ll see.

Nice builds there! Good finish too…great clean looking finishes. I’ve got these in the stash to build as I seem to have amassed a collection of 1/32 and 1/24 Spitfires myself. The PCM kits look nice in the box. How did you find them to build. Like yourself, I’ve got the low back conversion for the XIV, which I will be finishing as Spencer Flack’s G-FIRE.
Grey Matter do some very nice conversions..and your XII looks fantastic. These conversions originated from Vasko Barbic of Warbirds Productions. I know Vasko. He’s a great guy and knows his Spitfires inside and out. Love the Revell/Hasegawa MkI too. The Hasegawa kit, despite it’s age, is still a damn good kit. The only problem I had with the new wing that comes with the MkI was the diahedral, which was a bit flat. Will you be getting the new Revell MkII when it comes out? It should be a great kit and affordable too!
I’m currently building two Airfix 1/24 Spits, a MkIa and a conversion to a MkXVI. Still good kits in my opinion, although I’ve gone a little mad on the scratch building.
Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing more of your builds.
Regards;
Fellow scale Spitfire nut,
Steve

Nice builds. There’s something very appealling about a Griffon powered 5-blader Spit 🙂
