On my travels of late managed to visit a few smaller fields just off my route to see what goodies could be in store, all visited on Feb 25 en route from Finkenwerder to Gutersloh:
first up:Soest.. a small place with 1 hangar and a tower as pictured, only resident here was a quite sad looking Dornier 28:

Beilefeld… Quite a large GA field with lots of hangars
A nice looking Aero A45 in the hangar.. would have been nice to see out in the sun:

Porta-Westfalica, decent sized GA field with a few hangars and quite a few based GA:

Hodenhagen: Small field, couple of hangars seen about 5 or 6 aircraft:

That’s all folks.

I don’t know whether it still is but when I was stationed there it was a busy place. A few lees usual machines there too. One I recall wasa a Fiesler Storch in Veltins Bier Colours and there was also a KZVIII in one of the hangars.
The two KZ-VIII built are now in Cosford and Stauning (Denmark), respectively, and have been there for quite some years now….

Mike: was actually going to go there, but by the time i done my collection, figured it was getting too dark!, is it a worthwhile place for a visit then?? i am over that way a lot now, just fancy hitting GA fields rather than huge airports at the moment.
