We get a fair few helicopters coming in for fuel – not a patch on what we used to get though. Pesky long-range helicopters:rolleyes:
CHC S92A
S92A refuelling
CHC AS332L2
Bond AS332L2 relief offshore SAR aircraft
Bo-105 of Bond Air Services, Lighthouse Board helicopter
BIH S61N
Atlantic Airways Bell 412
Have to keep them pilots refuelled too! Bristow EC225.
Oh, all taken at Sumburgh, Shetland.
Cheers,
John

crieffy,
When was the pic of the S61 taken? I’ll ask my friend and see if he was up there.
That shot was April 2008, but they were also here in the summer of 2009 for 3 or 4 months.

Thanks:)
Nice stuff.
I like the British International one. My friend flies for them.
I do miss seeing the 61s – this was the last one to be based here, for the NWH platform dismantling project. It’s possible your friend was one of the crew? They were Penzance based guys.
Great pictures. Spent 18 real happy months in the islands in the early 90s. When did they choppers come back from Scatsa?
Steve
Hi,
They’re still in Scatsta – we only get them as weather diversions. Makes it a bit interesting when 6 S92s and 3 or 4 Saab 2000s appear, as we only have 6 staff to deal with it, lol. All we have based at Sumburgh now is the Bond and CHC SAR units and a CHC Puma for a daily rig crew change.
Cheers,
John
