Some images from the Sawbridgeworth Airfield Memorial last Sunday

Thought I would post these images taken at the unveiling of our Sawbridgeworth Airfield Memorial last Sunday. The weather held for us thankfully as past members of II(AC) Squadron gathered at the old airfield. Maurice Hammond did us proud with ‘Janie’. The public turned out to meet the men who were stationed here with the squadron from 1940 to 1944. All in all a very good day.
The current Officer Commanding of II(AC) Squadron, Wing Commander Andy Hine is seen in the centre of image 1 with Doug Reich (left) and Ivor Harris (right). in image 2 both Doug and Ivor can be seen in one of the dispersals still evident on the airfield itself.
