Yet more work for you Steve, though most if not all, the s/n are visible. Details of their units though would be welcome.

Yes indeed, the B-29s were temporarily based at Lakenheath and Sculthorpe at the time.

What can I say but thanks again. The ‘Washingtons’ are according to the info on the back of the photo ’18 of a group of 27 from the 301 Bomb Group’ and were part of the final flypast at the display.

On a roll now…
Viking C.1 VL247 of the King’s Flight
Meteor T.7 WA621/HX-P 226 OCU
Meteor F.4 EE595 Central Fighter Establishment, with Prentice T.1 VS352/FB-Rl 3 FTS behind it (and that Meteor T.7 again)
A 22,000 lb Grand Slam bomb (or is it a Tallboy?)
Avro 504K H2311, still with Shuttlleworth today
A big formation of Washingtons!
Hurricane 2C G-AMAU, the famous PZ865 still with BBMF of course, with Chipmunk G-ALWB behind it, which was a DH demonstrator and is still flying in the UK
The Chipmunks were from Central Flying School (4 aircraft), plus one from 18 Reserve Flying School, and the Vampires in the background are from 601 and 604 Squadrons
