Thanks chaps, i thought it was some sort of air defence device, never noticed it on the 146 before. Jamie, the 195 was in today, and has been in almost daily lately on the BEE 816(still not caught FBEB yet!!)
Back to BlairForce 1, i noticed today, as mr Blair whizzed past me in the jag (an old x plate one btw 😮 3 times today his entourage held me up grrr :dev2: )that the 146 started engines without clearance to do so by ATC!
Alright for some, AND got to skip the take off queue by lining up at a shorter link. Cheek:D

Would also imagine that pod houses either chaff or flare dispensers or maybe even both. The pods are definitely nothing to do with air to air refuelling.

Construction No: E1029 belongs to A Flight 32(R), I believe the pods are RWR dectors to detect incoming missiles. The new ‘civilian’ scheme lowered the profile of the squadron’s planes and less vunerable to possible attack.

Super shots Tartan, Gotta love the AF CRJ and the Germanwings. The devices under the reg LOOK like Refueling drogues, that would be my guess. BTW any ideas if the EMB 195 will be visiting GLA soon ?. Let’s hope so !
