Some old photographs.

I will not ask if you would like me to post them in case you say no. I make no apologies for the quality, but have done my best to clean them up with PSP.

Yes Mark 12, You are nearly right. It is a mark 24 of 80 squadron at Lubeck, probably August 1948, the aircraft is VN307, coded W2 T on air to ground firing practice, note the ammo boxes in the foreground. A Polish pilot, P2 Ossendorf was too enthusiastic and got a canon shell ricochet into his starboard radiator, grounding the aircraft for a few days, I was the engine mech on this aircraft from June 47 untli Jan 50. I was told by a squadron member much later that this Spitfire holds the record for hours flown, I have never gotten round to checking it out with R A F records though. regards.

That Corsair needs to be freed up from the TAM museum and flown again….that’s just wrong…

Nice Spitfire Mk 22/24 shot.

Looks like they could be 80 Squadron in Wunstorf or Hong Kong.

Grounded. Can you please oblige with any serial numbers or a codes for the Spitfires in that shot?

Great pics anyway, thanks for posting. I really like the one of the Kittyhawk.
