Some pics from Berlin

just back from Berlin, where the weather was terrible yesterday. In spite of that, a lot of vintage machines could be seen at the ILA Berlin, like this DO24, BW Roger

Nice shot of the B25 Roger. Good to see it was the redbull B25.

Ace Shots Roger, especially of the DO.24 and of the Yak 3. Is the DO.24 scheduled to attend any shows over here?

The Mustangs are familiar!
mmitch.

Yes strangely familiar, I ‘m sure I saw one of them this evening shortly before cracking open a beer and having a Barbecue. You’ll be pleased to know they are both now safely tucked up in their hangers away from the awful European weather.

Hi Kenneth,

Since 1980 I visited all the ILA’s, first at Hanover, later to Berlin. I did the same with Le Bourget and Farnborough (1975 to 1998 or so ), but now the ILA is the only one of the big three I still go to. I like the event, photography is good. The vintage machines are in a special compound and easy to shoot, and there are always enough surpises to justfy the trip from Holland. Yesterday, I could enter the ILA grounds at 07.00 AM. There was nobody and 2 hours later I had done the job, It was a shame the weather was so bad, but at least it wasn’t raining in the early morning. So in 2006 I’ll be there again (if still alive). The Connie didn’t fly Stieglitz. It was in the static and I didn’t photograph it as it was in no comparison with the situation I had in Basel last week. Here is the Mitchell. Not a spectacular shot either, as I said, the weather was hell. BW Roger

Nice pics, Roger! I was there too, but on Tuesday and Friday, where the weather was somewhat nicer. What did you think of the event?

Thanks Roger. Do you have some more pics oldtimers (for example of the connie, B25, …) who flew at Berlin. That would be nice.

The Dornier and the Yak are exceptional, I would like to see both those over in the UK.

This former NVA AN-2 is now registrated as F-FUKM, and is fitted with a nice painting. BW Roger
