Hi all
Getting ready for FL, I dug out some old piccies from past years. They brought back some good memories to me, so I thought about sharing them with you.
However, they were done in the analog domain and scanned when a scanner was still a pretty rare thing. So please, don’t expect too much.
’nuff said, here we go…
See you all at Legends

Only one more day, so a few more memories to keep us going…

Great pics…ALL of them….have an 8×10 on my wall from one of my trips over there of BM597 (the Mk.V Spit) with a army Jeep parked beside it…two of my favorite things in the whole world, Jeeps and warbirds…now if it just had a Hockey player in it, THREE of my faves would be covered…
Funny to see the ex-Morgan Corsair flying over there in England as it did for three years, now back here in Texas (and under repair after it’s gear up landing)…somehow I always knew that thing would come back….unfortunately under sad circumstances.

Hey, didn’t mean to start a thread ending up in the blue note…
You sure have some good memories to tell, don’t you?
Example: Does anyone remember Eric Guijon (spelling?) in the Jaquard Corsair turning 360’s in front of the Gold pass enclosure after a show. This man used to start te display on the taxiway already…
…nervous… 36hrs to go

It just proves that history is in the making. What is happening now (or at the weekend at least 🙂 ) will create nostalgia in a few years time.
Fantastic isn’t it. Hopefully this years show will also be fondly remembered for a long time to come.

Is that the red-nosed P-51D from France?
yep – could be 44-74506 (painted as 474832) F-AZJJ in the colors of the 4th FG nicknamed “Boomer” – she was at Duxford in 2000, but w/o D-day stripes under the wings….

Sad to think that out of the pictures above 2 of the aircraft and their owners are no longer with us.
…that is one of the reasons for me to share the pics. I looked through them and suddendly noticed how fast things have changed. And how fast we tend to forget…
