Interesting T- Shirts !
By: Meddle - 31st July 2017 at 13:28
I’ve never sat against a warm keyboard. What is it like? And which t-shirt did you purchase? I want to see pictures when it arrives!
By: Piston - 30th July 2017 at 22:34
Those are some desperately ugly, tacky t-shirts. Tasteless tat knocked together for chavs and the Britain First crowd, and probably made somewhere in the third world by children.
I fail to see the connection between this rubbish and historic aviation, beyond one of the t-shirts featuring a couple of biplanes.
You’re the one talking about Britain First. Isn’t that the precursor to the Blenheim?!!! Surely that’s a link to historic aviation.
So, they’re made by children eh? Quite an assumption really, but if they are, and the kids are the only members of the household that can work, what then? While you sit against your warm keyboard in your pleasant home tittle tattling, then rest safe in the knowledge that your life is somewhat better than theirs.

Society is divided into two distinct camps, that is, those who absolutely love to have pictures on their clothes, and those who definitely do not.
The fact that I find the designs to be hideous is a purely personal judgement, but more concerning is that they seem to be getting a lot of mileage out of the use of poppy imagery, which has strong associations with raising funds for charitable causes, but this enterprise appears, as far as I can ascertain, to have no such remit and is a purely private business.
That is not to say they have acted outside the law, but is another reason to view them with a degree of disdain.

Sorry Tony, but I have no idea what your final sentence concerns – certainly nothing I have asked. It was clear you knew all about eBay as it was you who raised it in post #3. I never suggested that the eBay links, which other members offer up, have anything to do with charity as they are evidently commercial.
I have no particular interest in this topic – I asked questions to try to better understand why it had been posted, the nature of the organisation and it’s relevance to the Forum. You gave your answer in your latest post. Over and out from me, as they say.

I just don’t see why the merchant should get a free advertisement here.
Free advertising I would say…
Some of you really need to get a life, pray tell what the difference is in this and the myriad of seen on ebay threads and links, because at the end of the day they are all commercial. I just thought some would be interested and they are being produced by family members of servicemen and women.. but hey ho, stay on your high horses and carry on being bigoted at your leisure. As for historical, the WW1 centenary is upon us and they are producing items for that… and that came even before the bloody spitfires you all so obviously love!!!!!
Consul I am aware what Ebay is.. its a great big none profit making charity bring and buy sale…….. ohhh wait a mo, no it isn’t, its a very successful commercial enterprise. Hence the
define commercial, all the links to parts on eBay are exactly that.

I’m old and I’m not offended by it at all. I just don’t see why the merchant should get a free advertisement here.

Brilliant – now that’s what I call dapper.
By: Propstrike - 29th July 2017 at 23:37
I will side with that ancient old Codger, Consul, and agree it is an odd sort of thing to post on a historic aircraft forum.
It is indeed thought provoking, and the thought that it provoked was ”Thank heavens I don’t have to go out in public wearing anything like that !”
Wait a minute ! Just spotted the dapper Soldier T shirt / Blue trouser combo. Hope they haven’t sold out !

You may have a point – it’s very ageist, but possibly valid, lol! 😉
By: Piston - 29th July 2017 at 21:47
Honestly, this forum! Why are so many people so easily offended?! It’s a website selling thought provoking but somewhat tacky merchandise (though the T shirt with the little girl saying “Don’t go Daddy” was a little close to home), but it’s link to historic aviation is somewhat tenuous, but not massively inappropriate.
I’m generalising when I say I think MANY regulars on here are either millennials, or very old, such is the ease of offence or rebuke.
By: Consul - 29th July 2017 at 17:49
Geoff. I assume your judgemental remarks are aimed at me. I simply asked two questions. The material does not offend me. I cannot understand how the matter has been in any way politicised. I agree that some of the material is thought provoking. The site appears to be primarily involved with flogging t-shirts and mugs as an homage particularly to soldiers. It looks though to be a purely commercial site – I couldn’t find any mention of it being linked with or benefitting good causes. But I could be wrong, so sought clarification.

Hi All,
Tont T
Good post matey only trouble is that some on here may politicize it as being whatever because it offends them which is complete and utter rubbish,
It does not matter one jot who is selling them they are as Alan writ thought provoking people should either like or not like it’s that simple.
From MOPO thank you for the link matey and take no notice of any naysayers….;)
Geoff.

I thought some of you might be interested
Indeed, some thought provoking designs.
By: Consul - 28th July 2017 at 23:06
Tony the site you have provided a link to in your first post has nothing to do with parts nor does it have eBay links – it’s a site just selling t-shirts, mugs etc that also provides some prayers and articles about soldiers etc. Did you perhaps intend to post a different link?
By: TonyT - 28th July 2017 at 22:47
I don’t know, I was just showing you and those that may be interested, as the company is nothing to do with me define commercial, all the links to parts on eBay are exactly that.
By: Consul - 28th July 2017 at 21:58
Isn’t it just a commercial enterprise?
