Last night The Spitfire story was on discovery Wings and tonight, well i just sat and watched Memphis belle. Still a superb film hasn’t lost any of its appeal to me unlike Top Gun which i just can’t stand to watch anymore.
Wondered how many of those airframes were real just 2 ?
What happened to Memphis Belle’s crew after the war. Do any of them still survive ?
Also i was just thinking there arent enough of these films on the tele for my liking and was surprised to see that Dambusters is on over the weekend on Film 4 for free. Yes free ! some promo or something but weekend viewing is free
6pm saturday on film 4 or 7PM on 4+1
Night in with a take away and some beers for me !

And last night, UKHistory had the Decisive Weapons programs about the Hurricane and the Aircraft Carrier. That should be on again today (I think they run a 3 or 4 hour loop of the previous evening’s programs up to about 6pm). The day before was the Sea Harrier, and the day before that was the T34. I think there’s “new” episodes on tonight.

Two crew members survive according to this. The aircraft’s pilot Robert Morgan passed on just a few months ago.
