So with the Dublin meet only a week away I took a few hours today out of my busy schedule of doing nothing on my day off to take a few pics up at the auld airport.
Sorry about the quality the weather was crap and so was the photographer.

Tom – Matthew Murray proposes that you and him stick in the terminal and have something to eat whilst waiting for me, thats very kind of him, dont know if thats ok with you? I understand you dont have that much time there anyway leaving at around 18:00.
Matthew – you do know you’d have to wait around 3 hours for me in the terminal ?

Sorry abouth this but I havnt got my roster for next week though and Im not back in until Friday so fingers crossed. Ill be there come hell or high water. I hope its nicer next wedensday than today. A good tip would be for everyone to bring some sort of rain gear regardless of what the weather is like wehn you leave the UK.

Be careful along that road, especially walking back to the terminal. The footpath is that narrow and being honest, I never heard the buses coming half the time!
I did it in low light during a February morning and evening, not to be repeated especially by the faint hearted and passing the grave. Stick close to the hedge/fence/ and watch the traffic. Once you get to the road running parrallel to 28/10, stick near the fence. Crossing the road at the layby can be an adventure in itself.
If they’re using 10 and you fancy seeing them touch down, keep walking along that road, around the left hand bend and past the building with choppers on the right. When you come to the traffic lights, turn right, you should be able to see the airport fence. Walk around that and there is another long mound just before the entrance to the carpark. Again, be careful especially around that corner.

saw the Hertz 732 at NEMA today, refreshing sight to see the old girl, and when they open up the throttles, well you cant mistake those PW JT8D’s at full bore

Tom and Matt :
Think its worthwhile printing these directions off and taking them with you, in case you cant get a lift (Not meaning anything wrong Shamrock ;)), or you dont get a taxi. I will be taking a copy in case. Thanks to wannabe pilot :).
To get there by foot, you turn right out of the terminal. Then walk, and carry on walking until you eventually come to a TNT building on your right hand side. After walking past the building, take the road to the right. Continue this round, it’ll bring you under the RWY28 approach. Carry on going, there’s some sort of junction and when you reach it you can see which road runs down parallel to the runway. Walk down that road, and eventually you will see the lay-by with the mound. Beware, the parallel road has no pavement, and requires walking down the grass verge on the side (very fast moving traffic). In total, it takes around 30 minutes at a quick pace.
If there on a different runway direction, I wont have a clue where to go!
Also Tom and Matt – please text me to tell me where you two have ended up at!

Matt and Tom – Where are we going to meet? Are you two going to go off to the spotting spot and i’ll catch you up?
That sounds like the best arrangement.
I’ll make sure I PM you my number in the next week, Ill text you before I board Tom, then you will know which plane to get a shot of landing 😉 .
Well I’ll try my best 😀

Cheers, I probably wont be at a decent spot till around 12, the other guys can update me on what I have missed.

They were taken between 10 and 1 with the weather slowly improving towards the end of the 3 hour stint. I know you are not arriving until quite late but there was quite a few EI A330s still around as well as US 767 but most European stuff goes around 12 and ocmes back a little later.
