Sound Recorder Type 4185

Does anybody have any information on this wire recorder, please?

Judging from the internal parts it will date from the late 40’s or early 50’s.

Stores Reference 10U/16830.

I’ve discovered that the relevant AP is AP2487L, does anyone have a copy? It isn’t listed in TNA Kew online catalogue.

Very many thanks,

Andy

Boosey and Hawkes were primarily classical music publishers, musical copyright holders, and for a time made musical instruments. If this is the device I’m thinking of then it was probably built by Wirek, which I believe was owned by B&H at one time.

Somebody on the Vintage Radio Forum has come up with this Boosey & Hawkes advertisement.
