Ello,
General enquiry and hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
Might be in the market for a Mk.I straight top blind flying panel (6A/616) and wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a source for a reasonably priced reproduction. Doesn’t have to come painted but it would have to be “to spec” in terms of dimensions and having all the holes cut.
Also, I’m wondering if anyone knows of a source of a blank “data plate” for a cockpit mock-up. Need the black type with the silver grid for mods to be stamped in and the larger top section with “Type” marked in it. Not trying to fake or deceive anyone with it, just a small visual finishing detail.

I’d use Malcolm Goosey for the BFP panels.
He also has the forum users thread of approval!

Ian,
That mod plat looks pretty much spot on for what I’m after. I figured I could get one made up but I don’t know if they had a standard dimension?
As for the BFP – I’d rather avoid eBay due to the price hike and the reasons you mention about gauges not fitting. If I’m going to spend money I’d rather go to someone recommended who can do a decent job 🙂

There are plenty of repro BFPs on ebay, although one I bought scarcely fitted any of the gauges so I can’t recommend a vendor! I had a go at a laser engraved modification plate a while ago but need to perfect it. This is a mod plate rather than the mythical data plate though. I need to improve the number stamping skills, got a bit carried away on this first go.
