just finished watching the first match..1-1 draw but a good feeling that the tournament has started. 🙂

But whoever had the idea of giving everyone one of those bloody blow-horns was not very bright. Sounded like a swarm of bees had attacked the game for 90 minutes. 😎

Ive absolutely no interest in watching 22 men kicking a wee ball about and I think I will retire to my shed for the duration.

I was more into rugby, but I will watch the final at least, and tomorrow night I am projecting the opening match onto a wall at a farewell party at work. Great way to earn overtime pay. 😀

Why in the EU specifically, Kabir? My guess is that several million in the UK, France, Germany, Holland and Spain will be fanatically glued to the TVs until their teams are knocked out and that will be that. Small minorities will be genuinely interested in the tournament whoever is playing.

But the majority couldn’t care less and will run a mile from the whole overhyped, self-indulgent, money-making boreathon.

No I can think of far more productive things to do with 90 minutes that watch 22 idiots kicking a bladder of wind about. Anyway I’ll say this for England’s chances. The rest of the worls plays football and England lets them.

Back on topic. I`l watch England play anything but cricket. England will break our hearts again but as a long suffering Leeds fan i`m prepared for that :rolleyes:

Oh, well – cricket is about all I do watch them play now. I might give the rugger a look see – it depends on what else is happening. Whatever the game is they are more likely to break our hearts than not.:( Although the World Cup 20/20 was a good effort, not that it’s a form of cricket I enjoy much…..

And, I’m afraid that the sooner they return to England from S.Africa, the better – then the hype and the flags and incessant chanting of INGERLAND will be over for another 4 years.
