Good luck to all going, I thik fluffy has tucked the BBMF in the warn dry hanger for the weekend a blooming good move i say.
I guess a few willend up at the airport hope for some pictures later.

Ok im off to open the museum up and drink coffee.

Not as bad as my usual trick.

I normally decide not to go somewhere because the weather’s going to be no good…..

…only to discover later that its been perfect…..:(

Good pics LL75 in spite of the bad weather. The Typhoon makes an interesting dislpay with the vapour in wet conditions.

I bet you’re regretting posting this right now!!:diablo:

Oh yes! Rather embarassing. Would have regretted it even more if I had gone to the show thinking the weather was not going to be too bad.

However as Sunday evening went on the forecasts became more pessimistic. Finally, by Monday morning the forecast was even worse so I guess they must have looked out of the window at this point.

Cheers to the pilots who flew today in such terrible conditions and to everyone who has posted pics.

Its good to see that aircraft managed to display in such awful conditions, at the Southport Airshow on the saturday last year in very similar conditions only a Seaking helicopter managed to display:(

Well done LL75!

I gave up during the Tucano display! Still off to Biggin and Old Warden next weekend, perhaps the weather will be kinder.

A small but significant change in forecast for Monday

Just saw national BBC weather forecast on TV for Monday. Wet over east England but over far south east, including Southend it might even be dry and bright for much of the morning. Dry perhaps afternoon as well with less/no sun pm but not guaranteed we will escape showers.

There is hope for tomorrow yet but breeze could be a problem.

Again the weather id not play ball, somebody really hates the working man up there!

Wor4k all week when its nice and sunny and then send the rain at the Bank Holiday when you are all offf typical.

Again the Earbirds did not make it, stuck at Duxford or over the Channel, The Wingwalkers could not fly, No Canberra, BBMF dont fly in rain, Falcons did not jump.

But over half did fly though dispite the conditions big congrats to all the team who put it together and the ATC Guys and girls for re-gigging everything, that did fly.

I hope there will be some displays today as well and see some nice photos later.

I decided this morning not to go to Southend. It will be the first time I have missed the airshow in years.

To anyone who has gone, if you are lucky it might be less bad this afternoon for some of the flying but I am not holding my breath.

Sorry, but from where I’m sitting it’s extremely grim, I’ve even had to put the central heating on, it hasn’t stopped raining here since saturday night.
At the moment it’s low cloud, wind and light rain and bloody freezing.
I did set off yesterday but the rain was so heavy that I diverted to B & Q instead.
I have great admiration for those aircrews and photographers on here that have persevered with the conditions, you make me feel very guilty.

“Team Guinot also did not make it, the girls were going to come by car and Vic Norman and one of the other display pilots fly in the pair of Stearmans.”

I have decided that as it is colder today that I will keep my gloves warm in front of the fire in the canteen just incase the TEAM Guinot girls need anyhting warmed up if the fly today !

Hang on,,, I got a better idea, I will keep my hands warm just in case:dev2:

Only see one aircraft all day yesterday a Sukhoi i think gingerly folowing the river to the show and then back again I bet his view was straight down and nothing forward.

747 made three low passes during a very heavy downpour the raid did stop on and off but it was that light stuff for most of the day 12 out of the 18 acts made it through the rain so well done to them all.

Thought it all looked a bit grim this morning, not historic, but anyone know if the Oasis 747 did its “display” ?

Work commitments kept me away today, but hopefully tomorrow things may 😎 inprove.

I was at the airport today.

The SAR Sea King did not attend.

The Canberra was stuck at Coventry and the BBMF at Coningsby.

The Hurricane and Buchon due from France did not make the journey due to the weather.

Two Spitfires also didn’t make it and neither did Sally B.

Team Guinot also did not make it, the girls were going to come by car and Vic Norman and one of the other display pilots fly in the pair of Stearmans.

Some photos here.

Yup I see they have revised their models for tomorrow. It now seems less optimistic for up here at least.

But based on other data I’ve seen this occluded front and associated depression will still be affecting the SE tomorrow afternoon.

Hi Colin,

I managed to brave the weather today for the airshow. Mainly because the outlaws live up that way. Despite the bloody awfull weather there was a suprisingly good turnout with a great display from the Reds.Only saw one historic though, not suprising, and that was the Cat.

Doesn’t look great. Thank you USAF for producing good synoptic charts 😎
