Weather was mixed, but photographic opportunities excellent at Southend Airport. Star turn was Vulcan XL426 which performed a fast taxi run – great to hear the “Vulcan Howl”. Pats on the back for the VRT who keep the old girl shipshape.
This event marked my first anniversary in aviation photography – here’s the results!

The gloss finish doesn’t last long although we do treat the surface with a barrier fluid which gets in all the cracks! Her third repaint may be a little while off but it is planned!

Peter, I think the gloss is wearing off. XL426 is seeing out her days living outdoors 365 days a year. Considering that, the guys keep her in amazing shape. Nowt like that Vulcan howl when they let the brakes off!
