A Southwest Airlines employee was in for a grisly surprise when she intercepted a package containing 40 to 60 human heads, NBC confirmed Thursday.
The container was found last Wednesday in Little Rock, Ark., and was bound for a Medtronic research lab in Fort Worth, Tex. The package was stopped because it was incorrectly labeled.
“And then when we found out what was in the package, we contacted local authorities and they contacted the coroner,” said Southwest spokeswoman Marilee McInnis.
The package was shipped by Arkansas company JLS Consulting to Medtronic, a medical research and technology company based in Minnesota. The parties contend the heads were supposed to be used for research purposes.
But Arkansas officials said they will investigate the matter completely.

The shipper didn’t give a “Heads up” as to what was in the containers. Anyway the Arkansas officials are getting “ahead” with their investigation. Heads are gonna roll. Others might be laughing their heads off. Anyway, I’m heading off to the pub for a pint. The story might turn a few heads there.
