Guys,
I need some advice. I’ve traveled many times, but never on a low-cost carrier. It wasn’t a personal thing…that’s just kinda how it has panned out. Some friends and I are trying to plan a trip to go snow skiing for spring break, and we can either fly out of Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA. I was trying to look up fares for various flights, and it seems that American and Delta has some very cheap fares while Southwest wasn’t listed (I used Travelocity) and AirTran was a bit more expensive than the Delta and American flights we saw (although all the AirTran listings were nonstop).
The southwest website seems to be down so I can’t search for fares, but I’m wonderin does anyone who’s flown with both airlines know about their fares? I mean can we find a chaper flight from Birmingham with Southwest or from Atlanta with AirTran or perhaps from either airport with another airline? Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Go Southwest.
Excellent customer service…though I don’t know about booking tickets online.
America West is second only to Northwest in terrible customer service. 😡
I haven’t flown Air Trans…the successor to Valuejet (whose reputation was ruined after a crash). If you want to fly on a 717…it might be fun.

AirTran always have pretty good fares. Southwest have a useless website which means you cant book any tickets beyond June yet
